Dr. François M. Blaudeau

François Blaudeau, MD, JD, FACHE, FAALM

President

Dr. Blaudeau is a person uniquely qualified to understand the complex issues involving medicine and the law. He established the Southern Institute for Legal and Medical Affairs to build a bridge between to his dual professional experience to benefit people who have been injured. He has litigated high profile medical malpractice claims on behalf of clients and medical device and pharma cases  around the country.  He has served in leadership roles in some of the most important recent  Multi-District Litigations.  Dr. Blaudeau has advocated for patients and for physicians and spends a lot of time advocating for patient safety in surgery. Still performing both minimally invasive surgery and practicing trial law Dr. Blaudeau is active in both disciplines.  He has also been active in Civil Rights litigation and routinely serves as a consultant for the NAACP.

Birmingham Southern College Dr. François M. Blaudeau earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Birmingham Southern College in 1981 with a degree in Political Science.

University of Alabama at Birmingham Dr. Blaudeau earned his Medical Doctorate from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1987.

Tulane University Dr. François M. Blaudeau completed hisOBGYN Residency at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Birmingham School of Law Dr. François M. Blaudeau earned his Juris Doctorate from Birmingham School of Law in 1998.
