Leon Aussprung, MD, JD, LLM, FAALM
Leon Aussprung M.D., J.D., L.L.M., F.A.A.L.M. is the 2024 President of the American Academy of Legal Medicine (AALM). During his stewardship of the AALM, Dr. Aussprung’s goals include increasing the organization’s visibility through issue advocacy and its social media platforms, increasing and diversifying AALM membership, and furthering relationships with academic and industry partners. Dr. Aussprung is a physician-attorney with over 25 years of experience practicing law in the areas of medical malpractice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is a former pediatrician, having practiced pediatrics for 7 years with the duPont Hospital for Children and Thomas Jefferson University.
Dr. Aussprung’s personal interests include pediatric and neonatal health law issues and he has lectured and published in the area of healthcare fraud & abuse litigation, as well as taught graduate level courses on Health Care Law. He is a black belt in Tang Soo Do, an avid stamp collector, and has been a private pilot.
