Mitchell Nudelman, MD, JD, FAALM
Mitchell S. Nudelman, MD, JD, FAALM, has been licensed to practice medicine and law since 1986 and 1991, respectively. He is a founding member of the AALM and has served on the board of directors since.
Dr. Nudelman received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Rochester (NY) and did research in RNA tumor virology at the university’s medical school as an undergrad, under his mentor Piero C. Balduzzi, MD. Studying abroad in Spanish, he earned his medical degree in 1983 from the Universidad Tecnológica de Santiago (UTESA). After completing his medical residency in Family Medicine at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware (through the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University), he attended the University of Miami School of Law full-time at night, while practicing clinical medicine during the day. Dr. Nudelman is proud to also be an alumnus of the State University of New York at Cobleskill (SUNY Ag & Tech) where he earned an AAS in Animal Science. He currently serves as Executive Vice-President of their charitable foundation.
A member of the Georgia Bar in good standing since 1991, Dr. Nudelman practices law representing those who were injured in accidents or by medical malpractice, at his Georgia law firm established in 1998 (Nudelman & Associates, LTD dba Georgia Lawyer Who IS a Doctor, LLC). In 2008, after ten years of hard-fought litigation, Dr. Nudelman settled his own federal Whistleblower suit against Intracorp – a now defunct previously wholly owned subsidiary of CIGNA. The settlement for millions resulted in CIGNA’s subsequent adoption of evidence-based medicine coverage criteria that are published online and are transparent to the public. Dr. Nudelman also practices administrative medicine. The medical peer review company that he founded in 1998 – Medical Director Solutions, LLC – and still serves as its Chief Medical Officer, serves mainly prominent defense law firms, insurance carriers and employers, many of whom are Fortune 500 companies. For over a dozen years, Dr. Nudelman served as the designated peer review physician to the Georgia State Board of Workers Compensation.
