Dr. Robert Bitonte, MD, JD, LLM, FAALM
Robert Bitonte, M.D., J.D., is a Southern California-based physician and attorney. He is board certified in both Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Legal Medicine. He provides services to the government as well as the private sector. His interests are brain injury medicine and human damages assessment, and physician representation.
Born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio, by two steelworker families. Dr. Bitonte earned his Bachelor’s degree at the Ohio State University and Master’s degree from the University of Southern California, Medical degree from the University of Miami (Fla), Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University, and a Master’s of Law degree from the University of San Diego.
Dr. Bitonte practiced in South-Central Los Angeles for over 2 decades and was on faculty at the University of California (Irvine) for 37 years.
Dr. Bitonte has served as president of the Los Angeles County Medical Association, president of the California Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and president of the City of Los Angeles Commission on Disability.
Dr. Bitonte serves as a board member of the Union of American Physicians and Dentists and on the Los Angeles County Bar Association Healthcare Law executive committee.
